Need free legal advice or representation? We're here to help! We have been providing confidential legal advice to University of Iowa students since 1971. We are here to listen, advocate, and help guide you through the legal process.

CommUnity Crisis Services

CommUnity Crisis Services and Food Bank is a volunteer-driven organization based in Iowa City, IA that provides immediate and non-judgmental support for individuals facing emotional, food, or financial crisis.

Monsoon Asians and Pacific Islanders in Solidarity

The mission of the programming series is to create space for dialogue, support, and empowerment among students, faculty, and staff at University of Iowa. Through the co-creation of a supportive community of womxn, individuals will have the ability to explore their racial, ethnic, and cultural identities, share lived experiences, and discuss what it means to be womxn of colour in our campus community.

Rape Victim Advocacy Program (RVAP)

RVAP provides free, confidential and trauma-informed services to anyone directly or indirectly impacted by sexual violence in Cedar, Des Moines, Henry, Iowa, Johnson, Lee, Washington, and Van Buren counties. Anyone includes but is not limited to individuals of any age, gender, identity, culture, etc. Sexual violence is any sexual act committed against someone without that person’s freely given consent. This includes but is not limited to rape, sexual assault, stalking, harassment, sexual exploitation, etc.

Women's Resource & Action Center (WRAC)

WRAC provides confidential, 1:1 assistance and support for anyone with concerns about discrimination, harassment, violence, or other matters. We specialize in identity-based concerns and care about your experience.

University Counseling Service (UCS)

Offers a variety of group and individual counseling services for currently enrolled Iowa students. UCS also offers workshops and programs to assist students with everything from depression and anxiety management, to suicide prevention, to helping others in distress. Services have no additional costs. The UCS is located in multiple campus locations for your easy access. All services are confidential!

Office of the Ombudsperson

The Office of the Ombudsperson is a resource for any member of the university community -- including students, faculty, and staff -- with a problem or concern. We provide informal conflict resolution, mediation services and advocacy for fair treatment and fair process.  Our services are confidential, neutral, informal, and independent.
