Home of the Hawkeye Accessibility Ambassadors. Student disability organization that promotes and advocates for a supportive and inclusive environment for students with disabilities on campus and in the University of Iowa community.
Rays of Reach
Purpose of RAYS of REACH is to: 1) Increase campus and community awareness about the UI REACH program 2) Develop and enhance relationships between and among traditional UI students and UI REACH students 3) Create a means to stay connected to UI REACH supporters following graduation
The Diabetes Link at Iowa
The Diabetes Link at the University of Iowa was founded for the purpose of connecting college students with and affected by Type 1 Diabetes in the hopes that these connections will create a support network which will enable students to fulfill their potential and limit the negative psychological and physical effects of Diabetes. The Diabetes Link at Iowa serves to offer a place of peace, support, and advocacy on campus and in Iowa City through fellowship, fundraising, and outreach.
Body Image and Eating Disorder Awareness
The purpose and goal of BIEDA is to encourage a positive, sustainable lifestyle through body image and eating disorder awareness and campus/local resource identification.
Best Buddies
Best Buddies is a recognized student organization on campus that pairs people with intellectual disabilities in one-to-one friendships with college students. The mission of Best Buddies is to establish a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
Active Minds
The purpose of Active Minds is to utilize the student voice to change the conversation about mental health on campus. The mission is to provide mental health education and advocacy in an effort to increase students' awareness of mental health issues.
