The Disability Scholarship was established in 2014 as part of the law firm’s commitment to helping students with disabilities or injuries who are in need of financial assistance for educational purposes.

The JC Runyon Foundation Scholarship is available for traditional and non-traditional high school students. In order to be considered for this scholarship, the student must have completed at least one stay in an inpatient facility for substance abuse and/or a psychiatric disorder.

The purpose of the Foundation is to provide scholarships to full-time college/university students who have documented disabilities of any type, deemed to be protected under the Americans With Disabilities Act and/or the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. The Foundation’s intent in providing these scholarships is to contribute to the increase in employment opportunities for college/university students with disabilities.

This scholarship will be awarded to promising high school seniors with disabilities who plan to attend a vocational or academic college and target a career in the technology industry. The scholarships are renewable – each winner who continues to meet the criteria is eligible to receive an annual award of $5,000 for up to four (4) consecutive years for a potential total $20,000 scholarship.
